 with Primal Fear and Sacred Steel in February-March 2001 February 8th 2001 Hamburg, Germany, Markthalle First gig. Always a little chaos.. We were quite tired since we had left Finland early in the morning. Tourbuses were a little disappointing, but still ok.. We share the bus with Sacred Steel..seem to be nice guys. Response from audience was good. Only thing is that we couldn't receive our tourshirts, got only hooded sweatshirts. Anyway...everything was quite good even though it was the first day. February 9th 2001 Eindhoven, Netherlands, Effenaar Arrived to the venue too late because Primal fear and crew's bus broke down. Our own soundguy got angry because there was some misunderstanding concerning the equipment which affected our sound and show... The sound wasn't that good... After the show our soundguy Anssi Kippo got wasted... Show was anyway successful, thanks to the great audience... Everyone got shitfaced after the shows... We got to know each other on the tour a little better.
February 11th 2001 Bochum, Germany, Zeche Venue is cool...Two of every band ( Henkka and Janne from Cob) were supposed to go to some signing session, that was weird. But we got Kreator shirts... Good food, goodlooking waitress, good 'touch and play'- thing... Show was excellent, and crowd amazing... Lancia was there again...And after the show we took a little testdrive... Janne and Jaska were driving... After show party was good and we met interesting people, for example Jörg Michaels (shame that Axel Rudi Pell couldn't come). Drinking beer in the night in the PF bus, while going towards the Czech republic... February 12th 2001 Prag, Czech, first day off Every one having terrible hangover..And one of the technicians had to stay on the border because some passport thing... Checked in to the hotel and had a good meal. Spending time...
February 17th 2001 Pratteln, Z7, Switzerland Laundry day. Suprisingly lot of people...best gig we have had in Switzerland so far! Schmier from Destruction payed his respect and came to say hello... Traditional beer/hanging out etc. February 18th 2001 Ravenna, Rockplanet, Italy No one on the tour had never heard or been in this venue.. When we saw the place we got some bad thoughts. Very low stage, no lights..shit!! Lots of fans in front of the bus door waiting when we woke up... Again very good looking bartender. And cool promoter who brought nice looking girls backstage.. Many screwdrivers, lots of vodka and nice party. The gig wasn't the best but still ok...And quite much people even though 300 persons couldn't come because of a railwaystrike. February 19th 2001 Turin, Supermarket, Italy Goodlooking venue, but that's it. Soundcheck delayed until half an hour before doors were supposed to open...because there was something wrong with the mainpower. Luckily our gig went good but for Primal fear gig was a nightmare. Mainpower got down four times during their show.. Everyone was quite pissed! February 20th 2001 Barcelona, day off, Spain We ate mexican food... After getting beer from the liquorstore we went to the beach to chill out..Even though it was quite cold. Some of us ended up in the Mediterranean, some of us ran naked around the city...and the guitar-section slept on the street in front of the venue.. So nothing special... February 21th 2001 Barcelona, Razzmataz, Spain Venue was nice again...Show was good... crazy crowd. Icecold water in the shower, great!!! Yes, Spain is always nice for us...
February 24th 2001 Granada, Piorno VII, Spain This is a festival, headliner SAXON (unfortunately hey cancelled)... Gravedigger was the last band that night we saw... AC/DC -cover band played good show and during the Highway to hell all from our tour went on stage in front of 3200 people. Before our show we had a funny moment as bowl of icecubes was poored into Henkka s underwear. For dinner we had bloody chicken and dogsteak ( or maybe rat). February 25th 2001 Barcelona, day off, Spain Third day in Barcelona on this tour... Walking around the city with tourmanager Fleisch, and ended up in a tapas-bar to get food and shitfaced... February 26th 2001 Toulouse, Bikini, France Venue and backstage area were really cool, but strict db- limit is a little..emph... Table football made our wrists sore, and food was delicious. Some of us felt little ill and we didn't party... Janne managed to shit the toilet stuffed...
March 1st 2001 Offenbach, day off, Germany Nice hotel.. Ofcourse we went to sauna first, that was little too mild but anyway a sauna. Then got some beer from the gasstation... Had a good meal, and later we ended up to be sitting in the hotelbar drinking ramazzotti and tropical vodka with our great crew...Fucking expensive, especially when the bartender tried to rip us off... March 2nd 2001 Offenbach, Hafenbahn, Germany The hottest venue in Europe... Lancia section was there again...and also we met an American soldier, fan of ours, who gave us cool badges, and told cruel stories.. Our soundguy got back, and obviously it wasn't salmonella. But it was from chicken (see Granada)! Gig was fun eventhough it is not possible to play in such a heat. People were crazy! March 3th 2001 Kaufbeuren, Zeppelinhalle, Germany Big venue. The lights fell down during soundchecks..luckily no one got hurt. We got new lights and could go on stage to play..little lazy again but anyway.. After show we drank lots of vodka-cranberry-juice -things and sang happy birthday to Martin M. Later we had great party in our bus, and someone puked our toilet stuffed... Maa'in???  March 4th 2001 Stuttgart, LKA, Germany Last day and show..Hometown of the other bands. Everyone having hangover, except Ale!!?? Nice venue and promoter... We had nice show and we got shitfaced because crew was serving vodka-shots on stage... After show we hang out with different people, eg. Nuclear staff... Saying farewells to everyone, and started towards airport... Tour was over. |
